Ways to REACH OUT

There are different methods to reach out which is not a surprise - this page enumerates some actions.

All of these methods are discussed in one or more of the websites on the Important Websites page.

  • Give Money
The default approach to supporting a cause is, of course, giving money.
And, let's face it, money makes the world go around, so, money we will give!
However, this is NOT the primary focus of this website.
Therefore, yes, please give money and then read on.

  • Register as a Volunteer
Many of the websites on the Important Websites page invite you to register as a volunteer.
What this means is that you will get many emails and texts telling you to donate money (of course) and equally many emails and texts telling you about volunteer opportunities.
However, what they do not do is contact you personally - they can't - there are too many volunteers (luckily).

The Bottom Line is: if you want to volunteer for anything, YOU have to reach out and actively pursue a volunteer opportunity. Therefore, please read on.

  • The Personal Touch
We're talking about door to door canvassing and/or phone banking.

It is an enduring approach, but in this day and age, with people more and more suspicious of unsolicited contact, something which seems to go the way of the dinosaurs.
However, this is a personal opinion, which many people will/may not agree with and something that anyone can decided for themselves.

  • Write Postcards
A more indirect and, apparently, effective way to encourage voters into action is by writing them postcards.
The Progressive Turnout Project, for one, supports this effort which is probably worth looking into.
Note - The Progressive Turnout Project just posted this message:
With the help of more than 265,000 volunteers, we’ve completed sign-ups for all 36 million postcards!
